Adopting lighting fixtures with high luminous efficacy (LED, etc.) and applying appropriate levels of lighting contribute significantly to the building overall energy consumption. Using efficient lighting fixtures to reduce the amount of energy used to meet the lighting requirements of the building and its occupants is a strategy which will lower operating costs. Natural lighting can be applied, where possible, to reduce the electrical load associated with lighting requirements.
